L’abri Trio is a dynamic chamber ensemble known for its distinctive combination of saxophone, cello, and piano, blending expressive classical performance with adventurous repertoire and newly commissioned works. Formed in Baltimore, Maryland in 2012, the trio has gained recognition for its vibrant sound and engaging musical storytelling. L’abri Trio has appeared at notable venues including the Strathmore Mansion, the Peabody Conservatory, the International Saxophone Symposium at Shenandoah University, Falvey Hall at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), Columbia University in New York, and Georgia State University, as well as performances in Seoul, South Korea. The current lineup features saxophonist Kenny Baik, cellist Hye Won Han, and pianist Hyun Hwa Jang, bringing fresh artistic energy and depth to the ensemble’s unique voice. Together, they present wide-ranging programs—from inventive arrangements of classical masterworks to contemporary pieces written specifically for their instrumentation. L’abri Trio continues to expand the possibilities of chamber music through performances in concert halls, universities, festivals, and community spaces, championing both traditional and newly created works for the saxophone–cello–piano trio.
